VINTAGE METAL GLIDERS FOR YOUR PORCH

VINTAGE METAL PORCH GLIDERS!

I
I had restored "tons" of gliders before I started taking pictures of them to post.
One reason is that I started long before the digital age, when film was the order of the day and computers were not in every household.
Here is a same of some of the later ones that I have brought back to life, some traditional, some with the whimsy that is me.

Some gliders were so neglected over the years that it took 2, sometimes three gliders combined to make just on good salable and serviceable model.
The read and white one with a "G" was for a Georgia Bulldog fan to give to her granddaughter as a wedding gift.

This glider was painted these colors because of their 'spice' names: sage green, paprika red, and saffron yellow.
The birds and nest were an idea from my artist neighbor across the street who often wandered over to help.

A BUNTING STARBURST PATTERN

My wife thought that Sunflowers would look nice, complete with bees.

This a SQUARE BASKET WEAVE PATTERN from the ATLANTA STOVE WORKS COMPANY.

A ROUND BASKET WEAVE PATTERN from  ATLANTA STOVE WORKS COMPANY
Although not factory colors, this one did not last long at the antique show

The use of bright yellows and whites has been successful for me.

This was a custom made for a friend who want both Georgia and Alabama represented.

The BUNDLE OF WHEAT PATTERN by BUNTING GLIDER COMPANY is very rare.

Teal and white work well together.
Red and white is a classic combination.

This is an old version of a 'tubular' frame loveseat. The modern ones are not worth restoring.

A DIAMOND PATTERN from BUNTING GLIDER COMPANY.
Bright green and white catches the eye.

An example of a sleeper-glider with matching side chair.

A red and white love seat for a special couple to enjoy.

The best dog a man ever had sitting on a sleeper-glider with original horse hair stuffed cushions.

Primed and ready for the finishing colors.

I sold this one under the name BUTTERCUP!

An attempt to add roses to the glider

Stately white.

OVER THE TOP COAT RACKS!

I wouldn't be Me if I didn't include something political
The backing for this piece are pieces of tongue and groove paneling from an old, old house torn down locally. While assembling and trying a new painting technique, I knew the pieces that I wanted to put on it. I found the hot rod and Route 66 sign several months ago and had been waiting for just the right board to come along. Those of my generation will have memories of these hot rods and Route 66.---$125.00
GIT IN THAT KITCHEN AND RATTLE THOSE POTS AND PANS! Those lyrics from an early rock 'n roll song just popped out at me when I found these old salesman samples used by traveling salesmen during the horse and buggy era. These happen to be Griswold brand.---$75.00
Remember the old porcelain faucets knobs of your grandparents era? I thought this would make the coolest bathroom rack around. You will be the only kid on the block with this one. The knobs are hard to find making this one more pricey than I would have liked.-----$75.00

What cowboy can resist HAT AND HORNS coat rack. A beautiful resin applique, 4 large, sturdy hooks, all on a piece of 175 year old barn wood makes this the complete package.---$65.00

A VERY LARGE PARROT HOUSE!

In New York City, this cage would be considered a studio apartment, it is so large. Standing almost 9ft. tall, this has to be one of the biggest pieces of furniture that I have ever owned.
It was custom built by a friend of mine who is a furniture maker by trade. He had a large African parrot and built this beautiful house for him. He no longer has the bird and has moved to a smaller house and did not need it.
As luck would have it, I had some building materials that he needed for more custom work, so a trade was born.
He placed a retail value of $1800 on it, and to my thinking, that was a little low. However, I am in the business of buying and selling, so I will take his word for it.
While I am on the subject, if you would like this house for your parrot or small birds(just screen the insides) or even reptiles, contact me. I will sell it for far less than the appraised value, as I do not own birds and someone needs to enjoy this. As always, if you send your friend to me and they make the purchase, you get a commission, how fair is that?

My son, Joe, is standing beside the house and at 6ft. looks rather small in comparison. I have decided that if I do not sell it, it would look good in my house as modern art, since I have the high ceilings that it requires.

GUITAR MAN--SWEET MUSIC!

Not to be able to play a note, I think I did a good job on my guitars. They measure a little over 6 feet each. I cut the pattern from plywood then covered each on with bead board. There is an old headlight grille, wine corks for tuning knobs, tequila bottle tops, and part of a rusty door hinge in this one.
The Red White and Blue guitar is in honor of the Republic of Texas. It features a Texas truck tag in the head, with a cast iron lone star and piece of ceiling tin in the body. A long play record acts as the sound hole.

I have several others with such things as car parts, gaming pieces, and other interesting things. If you would like to know more, contact me. I can custom make one to your design.
